Happy New Year!

And so after many many weeks, I can finally say that I am back on the blog, all set for the adventure of 2020!

I hope you all had fabulous new year celebrations with your nearest and dearest and waved a fond farewell to the decade and in particular, 2019.

As the end of the year draws to a close and a new one begins, it is often a time for reflection on the highs, lows and everything in-between.

2019 was a mixed year for me with very high highs and some very low lows. Some of the best and most important life events for me happened during the year and I emerged much more confident within myself, having pushed boundaries and taken a few risks along the way.

Here are some of my highlights of 2019……….

Possibly the most exciting and important thing that happened in 2019 was saying yes to my best friend and soulmate! The wedding plans are under way and I am excited to see what 2020 has in store for us!

We bought a house together! I had been saving for years to buy my very own home and whilst it was lovely to be able to move in with Ollie a few years previously, I had always held that ambition that one day I would be able to proudly hold the keys to my own property and confidently say that I worked hard for this.

Yes, the house is involving a lot of renovations (I am now a pro at sanding down door frames and architraves) but I am excited to see the finished result once we have completed our refurbishments.

Our mini break in Barcelona was a lovely little trip that I will look back on with fondness.

We were completely exhausted with work commitments and the aforementioned work on our new home and the holiday could not have come at a better time. We took in the sights, soaked up some sun and drank copious amounts of sangria! It is a city that I would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for an easy get-away!

We took on the 3 peaks challenge! Possibly one of the hardest things I have done to date, but definitely the most rewarding! Along with about 20 work colleagues we raised over £10k for the charity Action for Children which had made a huge difference to the lives of children and their families all over the country.

My baby sister turned 21! We held a surprise party for her at my parents house and the world and his wife flocked for a big BBQ and an evening of drunken shenanigans and fun!

We went back to Majorca for the second time! We both loved the island the previous year and decided at the last minute to return for 10 days of glorious sunshine and lovely scenery.

A girlie getaway to visit a friend in Faro was just what the Doctor ordered after my holiday to Majorca!

Three days of drinking, gossiping and laughing hysterically made for a fabulous trip and one we will most definitely be repeating!

Pumpkin picking was something I had always vowed to do but for one reason or another it had never happened and I reverted to the usual pumpkins from Tesco. This year we live much closer to the pumpkin picking patch and so there really was no excuse not to go.

Ollie’s birthday trip away to Shaftsbury was another highlight. We stayed in a gorgeous little barn on a farm and whilst the weather on day 1 was pretty awful, the next day was blue skies, sunshine and crisp, cold air. We walked along the hilly surroundings, enjoying the view and the freedom of a weekend with no responsibilities or housework!

This year we spent Christmas at my parents home in West Chiltington. For the first time in a few years, we were a completely full house (rabbit and all!) which made for a chaotic, fun and eventful festive period!

Father Christmas was feeling particularly generous this year! I am now the proud owner of a gorgeous Kate Spade handbag which will most certainly be making an appearance on the blog this year!

And finally, seeing in the New Year with this wonderful bunch!

I have a funny feeling that 2020 is going to be a good one! I hope the year is kind to us all and that we are kind to each other!

With love and best wishes from me to you!
